Chronic Pain
Chronic Pain is an example of this complex pain experience. Chronic pain is pain that persists for more than 3 months, with no identifiable cause of pain or response to treatment or medications.
Affecting adults and children, it may arise from tissue damage or inflammation or cause no detection.
It may affect a particular body area (eg complex regional pain syndrome, low back pain (LBP), pelvic pain) or may be widespread (eg fibromyalgia).
Chronic pain is a complex condition with physical, social and psychological components, which can lead to disability, loss of independence, and poor quality of life.
Persistent and unresolved pain often results in:-
